Sunday walk by Aura river

Join CampusSport’s sports tutors in a Sunday walk. Walks will be organised once a month in February-April and you are welcome to participate in the walks regularly or occasionally. The walking pace will be adjusted to suit the participants’ level.
Sunday walks are free and there is no advanced enrolment. You do not need to pay the CampusSport sports fee in order to participate but you do need to be an enrolled student or a staff member in one of the universities in Turku. The sports tutors will be wearing black vests with “Sports tutor” written on them.
Wear sturdy shoes and warm clothes. Bring a water bottle. If it rains a lot, the walk will not take place.
22 February 2026 schedule:
- Departure at 13.00 from in front of Turku Cathedral, return to the same place at approx. 14.00-14.30
- We will walk approx. 6 kilometers along the banks of Aura river
- Mostly on asphalt roads, the route is fairly flat
Spring’s other walks:
22 March 2026
- Departure at 13.00 from in front of Turku Cathedral, return to the same place at approx. 14.00-14.30
- We will walk approx. 6 kilometers in Turun Urheilupuisto area, Samppalinna park and Vartiovuori park
- The route includes asphalt and dirt roads, stairs and many hills
19 April 2026
- Departure at 12.00 from the parking lot next to Halistenkoski (Valkkimyllynkuja 2, Turku), return to the same place at approximately 14.00-14.30
- The walk is approximately 6 kilometers long, with a stop at the Kuralan Kylämäki open-air museum café for coffee at participants’ own expense
- The route is mainly on dirt roads, with a few hills
