Answers to customer feedback spring 2025

We did a customer feedback questionnaire in the spring. We received around 100 answers and want to thank everyone who answered! The average grade for CampusSport’s services was 4,21 (on a scale of 1-5).

We have already taken some actions based on your suggestions, for instance, reminded people to close the doors in dressing rooms. We will consider implementing the changes that require more resources during the next academic year. As in previous feedback surveys, we have answered to some of the open-ended questions.

Would it be possible to bring a minor family member to the gym? I could pay the fee for them.

We do not have enough space in our sports facilities to cater other people than students and staff members of the universities in Turku. According to our terms of use the sports fee is personal. Users are not allowed to let anyone in to the sports facilities. This includes children.

I would appreciate information if there is a substituting instructor on the class. Currently, information is only sent by email if a class is cancelled.

The exceptions in the sports schedule are shown in the schedule on our website with the text “Exception: see info”. If you click the link, you will be forwarded to the page where all the exceptions of the current week are listed, including substituting instructors. You can find the page on the menu as well: select Schedule and Exceptions in the schedule.

In the future, there should be a fee only for the gym because I’m not using other services. It seems silly to pay for other people’s classes.

It is a conscious choice that CampusSport’s product range does not allow for customisation of services. Instead all users are sold a sports fee that covers the same services. This reduces administrative work and therefore costs, thus keeping the sports fee affordable. In addition, CampusSport aims to encourage people to exercise in many different ways and to try new things. A gym-goer may find that they benefit from body maintenance classes, or a ballplayer suddenly gets excited about a gym workout when all services are available for the same fee.

There could be a single fee for gyms that would also allow non-members and university students from other cities to use the gym.

As we noted above, due to space constraints, our services are currently not available for other people than students and staff of the funding universities. If a single fee were to be added to our product range, the price would be so close to the 30-day fee that we do not believe there would be demand for it. CampusSport’s main objective is to support the study and work ability of the higher education community, and regular physical activity is an excellent way to achieve this. Therefore, the longer you commit, the more affordable the price per week, so that physical activity becomes a permanent part of your everyday life.

The ban system needs to be changed, now it’s too strict how you get banned. It is also unclear whether you really have to arrive 10 minutes before class to avoid losing your place. A couple of times the class has been cancelled due to low attendance, and we just left and didn’t bother to confirm the places. Still, we got the ban. I think it’s a bit unreasonable. If there is no class, there should be no ban.

CampusSport’s instructed classes are always held if there is at least one participant. The assumption is that a cancelled class here means a ball sports shift without an instructor that has had so few participants that the games have not gotten underway. The reservation must always be confirmed on the screen, i.e. also for those shifts where games were not started. Two uncancelled or unconfirmed reservations lead to an automatic two-week reservation ban.

If the reservation is not confirmed at least 10 minutes before the shift starts, the place will be released to other users. However, if no one else confirms the place, it is possible to confirm your own reservation 1-10 minutes before the start of the shift. Please note, however, that if the attendant considers that the participant does not have enough time to change clothes and/or collect the necessary equipment before the start of the shift, they will not be allowed to join the shift.

It would be nice to be able to pay the sports fee wit Epassi.

CampusSport must check at the time of payment that the person who pays the fee is a student or staff member of a Turku higher education institution. The status is checked via Haka login. Therefore, we will not be able to accept Epassi or other similar sports benefits as a payment method until our online payment provider Paytrail introduces them as payment methods. We have periodically asked Paytrail if they could add sports benefits as a payment method, but so far this has not been possible.

You could make more videos introducing gyms and other services as well as staff introductions.

Highlights on our Instagram account (@campussportturku) include introductions of our staff members, video directions to all sports facilities, and sports tutors’ introductions of the sports shifts. We are considering if there could be some videos on our website as well, but unfortunately we do not have the resources to do so for now.
